Why did you choose your internship?
I chose this internship because I thought it’d be a great experience for me and it definitely was. It gave me a better understanding of how to manager a sports facility and take care of the turf with it.
What did you gain from your internship experience?
I gained more knowledge on irrigation, soils, and heavy machinery. I have more skills under my belt and it gave me a little more confidence out in the field. I can use a bobcat and a forklift and I never thought i’d be able to use either of them.
What factors influenced your decision to choose this experience for your internship?
The complex is the best complex in all of Arizona. This facility is by far one of the top spring training facilities and it has a great work place. There’s always something new to do and I don’t get tired of it.
What advice do you have for other students as they search for their internship?
Find something that interests you and don’t be afraid to do something you’ve never done. It’s always good to experience something new and say you’ve done it instead of not doing it at all. Also, go somewhere far, that would be a great experience for you.
How has your internship experience influenced your plans for your future?
It’s influenced me to keep climbing to the top and getting better. I would like to be a leader in this field and eventually managed my own field.
