Why I Teach Agriculture

I want to be an Agricultural Educator because I want to make a difference in the lives of students. Entering high school, I found myself with many choices of programs to join. Though I did not grow up on a farm, I found myself joining my high school's agriculture program and inevitably found myself amazed by it. In the classroom, I had the ability to learn about concepts like Biology or Plant science.Whether it was in the greenhouse or in the lab, I was participating in hands-on learning. My Supervised Agriculture Experience, working for the Town of QueenCreek Parks and Recreation taught me so many important career skills. Through my project, I was able to assist with the creation and facilitation of Town Events. These events enabled a closer connection to local businesses and the community.Within the FFA component, I was able to make so many wonderful connections and memories. Agricultural Education is much more than just the curriculum, it has the power to impact lives.
