Why did you choose your internship?
I chose my internship because I have always had a passion for tractors and heavy equipment. I also wanted to expand my mechanical skills since that is something I enjoy doing.
What advice do you have for other students as they search for their internship?
Sometimes you need to look beyond job postings. After applying to many, many internships I decided to shoot Stotz an email despite them not having an actual listing for this position. Sure enough, they responded quickly and we scheduled an interview. I would've never had this opportunity if I hadn't decided to try my luck and ask!
How has your internship experience influenced your plans for your future?
Precision agriculture is a career I would consider after graduating. Stotz has a precision ag department they are expecting to grow in the future and I had the opportunity to meet with that team. No matter what I end up doing however the skills and knowledge I gained on machinery is relevant and useful in a wide range of agriculture careers.
